INVESTING IN INNOVATION

Integrated Packaging has invested in a market leading 7-Layer Co-Extrusion line at its Reservoir site in Melbourne, Victoria.
Customers will experience a superior quality product with increased performance. The unique technology allows for greater specialisation of resin blends across each layer of the film. Recycled resin mixes can be added in the film manufactured, without impacting on product performance.
Additionally, the 7-Layer applies a consistency in the specified film thickness across the length and width of its rolls, which reduces the susceptibility to tearing and split edges.
The investment in this leading technology demonstrates IPG’s dedication to continual investment in equipment of a world-class standard to deliver innovative, sustainable and bespoke solutions for clients.

WASTE NO LONGER MEANS LANDFILL

Through Integrated Recycling (IR) we have closed the sustainability loop by improving economic and environmental goals simultaneously. IR enables plastic films made by the Integrated Packaging Group to be upcycled and developed into innovative second life range of products.  Our recycled products are resistant to termites, rot, water and sun damage, non toxic, doesn’t leach, is easy to work with and more durable than timber or concrete.

The Envire range includes landscaping products, outdoor furniture, boardwalks, retaining walls, fencing and structural products such as railway sleepers, boardwalk sub frames, dunnage and specialty pallets.

Integrated Recycling has created another solution that has caught the attention of governments around Australia.  The Duratrack sleeper is a sustainable innovation that outperforms traditional timber sleepers, uses waste plastic that would otherwise go to landfill and saves our natural timber resources. Duratrack sleepers have a life cycle about 3-4 times longer than timber and results in lower maintenance costs.

The Integrated Recycling range of composite recycled plastic products have a design life of at least 40 years and will save trees, use less energy than steel or concrete manufactured products and divert waste from landfill.

FIGHTING FOOD WASTE WITH INNOVATION

Food waste and loss is a significant contributor to global emissions and climate change. Integrated Packaging is fighting food waste with the Perfotec® Laser Perforator and Respirator System. Integrated Packaging is the only Australian organisation that utilises the innovative technology to provide our customers with unmatched packaging solutions for fresh produce with extended shelf-life, improved product presentation, reduced freight costs and reduced food waste.

The PerfoTec® Respiration Measurement system essentially fine tunes packaging’s transmission rates. The combination of Respirator and Laser unit is very effective at putting fruit and vegetables to sleep, extending the freshness considerably. The technology is particularly well suited to large farming operations, with same or similar crops being harvested across different seasons and growers who have farming operations in different regions that have a different climate.

As well as proudly partnering with REDcycle™ and its long-standing voluntary membership with Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO), IPG’s Integrated Recycling (IR) business plays the integral part in closing the sustainability loop and improving economic and environmental goals simultaneously.

Demonstrating our commitment to a sustainable future, IPG has measures in place to reduce its environmental impact:

• We have proudly partnered with REDcycle™ to support the recovery and reuse of post-consumer soft plastic.
• We are signatory members to the Australian Packaging Covenant (APCO)
• in-line capture of trim, recycled into alternate products
• onsite reclaim of resin waste, reused into alternate resin
• external recycling of heavily printed waste
• energy consumption optimisation through capacitor capability
• Installed RTO units which convert CO2 to energy for more sustainable reuse.
